“There’s always room for chocolate.”

The Chocolate Room in Cobble Hill might have the best chocolate cake in NYC. Just ask Oprah Winfrey. O Magazine describes their Chocolate Layer Cake as “a luscious and perfect 3-layer blackout cake”. It even made Oprah’s list of “My Favorite Things” in 2007.

Pretty good recommendation, huh?

That’s why The Chocolate Room is the second stop on our brand new Brooklyn Chocolate Tour!

Sample their chocolate cake which was voted one of Oprah's favorite things!

How’d the Chocolate Room Get Started?
Jon Payson and Naomi Josepher own The Chocolate Room. They always loved traveling around NYC sampling the tastiest desserts the city had to offer. They realized their Park Slope neighborhood didn’t have a great dessert shop, so decided to create a friendly cafe offering remarkable desserts, wine and coffee. They opened their first location in January 2005. In 2008 they opened The Chocolate Room Cobble Hill, which is where you’ll go on our Brooklyn Chocolate Tour. And in October 2014, they opened their new expanded café at 51 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope.

the Chocolate Room

We’ve always loved desserts. The excitement of going somewhere after dinner, after a movie, or relaxing with friends over an exceptional dessert was the beginning of the creation of The Chocolate Room concept. We created a place we would like to come to ourselves; a refuge from the increasingly chaotic world we live in. It is a place where people can relax and feel comfortable; a place where guests can enjoy incredibly delicious chocolate, award-winning desserts, ice cream, coffee, wine, and good company. We have a passion for people. We enjoy seeing people happy.” – Jon Payson and Naomi Josepher
