You’ll have to wait until May 1st to hop on the bus, but we’ve picked these 7 amazing local breweries in the borough to wet your whistle until the tour starts.
Five Boroughs Brewing Company
Five Boroughs brings class to Brooklyn crafted beer. The huge interior offers plenty of space, party games, but most importantly, amazing beer. You can enjoy everything from pilsners and IPA’s to lagers and seasonal specialties in their Sunset Park Taproom. And you know it’s good because it’s all made right in Brooklyn.

Other Half Brewing
If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere with exceptional people watching and phenomenal IPAs, Other Half is the place for you. Be prepared to be aggressive to get your order in at the bar, but the beer is well worth the fight. Or come with us on our Brooklyn Brewery and Distillery Tour to avoid the wait.
You’ll love their five hops-forward beers, including a West Coast–style IPA, a cask-conditioned Motueka pale ale and a black ale brewed with winter barley. Heavier selections include an imperial stout and sour beers.
One of the things we love about Other Half Brewing Company is their mission: to create beers that they wanted to drink from a company that they wanted to be a part of.
Sixpoint Brewery
Head on down to Red Hook to check out Sixpoint Brewery. Enjoy a laid back atmosphere with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Take it outside to their beer garden when the weather allows, and revel in the DJ and empanadas. Plus, they have a refrigerator with built in taps and free samples! You might like their Hazy Adventure IPA, NYC Pale Ale or Tangy Session Beer.
You’ll definitely feel their philosophy that “Beer is culture”.
The Brooklyn Brewery
Brooklyn Brewery started with a dream to return brewing to Brooklyn. Brooklyn used to powerhouse of American beer production, and clearly it is once again.
“Our namesake borough runs on the creative energy of the many communities it contains. We brew to support these vibrant people, in our neighborhood and around the world.”
You’ll love the predetermined flights. You’ll get 4 tasters at a time while dealing with the chill, yet knowledgeable, staff. They brew the Stonewall Inn IPA, in support of the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative, along with their Brooklyn Lager and even a deliciously hoppy non-alcoholic beer.

Coney Island Brewery
We know how much you love Coney Island, and what could make it better than a delicious lineup of beers on tap? That’s where Coney Island Brewing comes in. They aim to, “Brew craft beer that captures the spirit, flavor and romance that is Coney Island” and they’ve done just that.
From their Mermaid Pilsner and Merman NY IPA, come to enjoy the amazing beer and helpful bartenders. Leave with some Coney Island Brewery stickers!
Threes Brewing
Bon Appetit once named Threes Brewing the best brewery and bar in New York City, so you know it’s good. The Brooklyn-based brewery started in Gowawnus and now has locations in Greenpoint and Governors Island.
They craft approachable beers that balance simplicity and complexity, with a focus on lagers, hop-forward American ales and mixed culture beers.
Pop by any location for great beer and food alike. You’ll especially love their outdoor space which is perfect during spring and summer. You’ll even get to relax to live music on the weekends. Don’t forget to take some beer home with you.
Circa Brewing
Circa Brewing is another stop on our Brooklyn Brewery and Distillery Tour and you’re going to love it. Not only do they feature 12-tap lines of carefully crafted draft beer, all of which is brewed on premises, but it’s gorgeous. The oak bar has views of the stainless steel apparatus in which the beer is made. They cover a range of styles of beer from pilsner to gose to New England-style IPA.
Circa is also known for their award-winning Neapolitan style, Margherita pizza which you’ll have for lunch on the tour along with their award-winning beers personally curated for you by their brew master.
